Linne Calodo
Perfectionist Red Rhone Blend
This is a very enjoyable Syrah based GSM from Paso Robles.
Showing black fruits with earth, wood, spices, dark chocolates, vegetables, tobacco, peppercorn and espresso.
Pretty nose of wild flowers.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, as it it not as approachable right out of the bottle, so take your time.
Good by itself or with food. Delicious now.
A blend of 77% Syrah, 12% Grenache and 11% Mourvedre.
15.2% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
$70.

This is a syrah/grenache/mourvedre blend from Matt at Linne Calodo. A pretty conventional blend by his standards (he makes some of the most interesting cuvees in California), this one is a bit past its prime but drinking perfectly for my tastes. My favorite from them is still the Overthinker in most vintages, but this is a close second.
