Long Shadows Vintners
Pedestal Columbia Valley Merlot
Big and chewy, with substantial but highly resolved tannins and a dense core of black fruits. Leather, bark, black plum, dark cherry, cocoa, wet earth.

May 25th, 2015This was to be a celebration wine for a Seahawk's win. Guess I'm just drowning sorrows instead.

Feb 2nd, 2015Absolutely delicious. 40 min decant. A lot going on here and would probably open up a bit more with a longer decant. This is ready to go now.

Jul 21st, 2022Dark fruit, oak and alcohol dominate. Monolithic, unforgiving and ultimately uninteresting. Purchased directly from winery.

Feb 20th, 2021Long Shadows rarely disappoints! Proud of my WA producers! Excellent merlot with smooth start right out of the bottle, gentle leafy middle, and nice long nutty tail. This was 2008; if you find it - get it, it will deliver for another 5-8 years. At prime now though.

Aug 28th, 2017Clear medium ruby color. Red fruits. Well balanced and smooth with a medium to full body. My only complaint -lacks complexity.

Feb 12th, 2016The 2008 vintage has aged beautifully and I submit that it is approaching its peak potential. The dark fruit flavor coupled with mature balance on the palate makes this offering well worth an excellent rating. Sir Rolland has championed this wine as possibly the premium wine of the Long Shadows brand. Paired nicely with the house NY Strip Steak...4 Cheers!!!!
