I can never resist the Pedestal. Super young and tight but life is short!

This wine is made in conjunction with consultant Michel Rolland. The blend is 81% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1-2% of both Petit Verdot and Malbec. It's meant to be made in a Pomerol style. On the nose; ripe, lush, sweet black currants, sweet tarry notes, black licorice, soft pepper, violets, understated mint and fresh, dark. fresh floral bouquet. The mouthfeel is stunning as are the fruits. Fresh, ripe, nearly candied, blackberries, dark cherries, notes of blueberries, black raspberries/cola, gentle spices, elegant minerals, loamy soils, liquid violets and a gorgeous, long finishing. Comparing other most quality wine prices, this a steal at $60. Photos of one of their vineyards, Gilles in the lab and a hand blown glass artwork in their tasting room.

Still young and rather tannic. After 60 minutes you get a feel for the future. Delicious.

Whoa! A killer wine for a school night...Michel Rolland has another winner here. Definitely needs a little time to open up - a little spicy, super nice ripe fruit, licorice... almost surprising that it’s a merlot. Enjoyed in June 2020. Actually worked well with chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and gravy.

Love the wine/love the lineup! Medium+. Great balance and acidity. Nice complexity, great price. What else is there?

Wonderful Merlot. Nose of wild berries and bittersweet chocolate. The entry of this wine is dark. Brambly and blackberry and baking chocolate. The middle has a chocolate covered almond character to it. Hint of herb. Finished with toasted oak and nice acidity. I am 100% sure I will not have the willpower to hold on to my other bottle of this. I can also appreciate the 95 this one scored as well. Nice, nice Columbia Valley Merlot! Rolland and merlot are an excellent combo!
