For my 500th review here, I chose this nice Super Tuscan.
Dark ruby in color with a brick / orange rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, blueberries, tobacco, black pepper, celery, oak, vanilla and licorice.
Dry and fruity on the palate, much nicer then the nose, with blueberries, leather karma blackberries, figs, earth, wood, forest floor, licorice and vanilla.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and black pepper.
This is a nicely balanced 8 year old Tuscan, with a twist.
A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot and 20% Syrah. Aged for 8 months in oak casks and then 4 months in bottle.
14% alcohol by volume.

Big, beefy, best with a bolognese. Tannins were nicely integrated, although I wanted just a little more complexity.
