The prevalent fruit characteristics of the Crianza have drifted away, making room for a musty funkiness. This funk is typical of aged wines and especially old world wines. The finish wasn't nearly as long but very very dry.

Phenomenal Rioja, whispers of the Spanish summer winds, rich fruit, wonderful oak character, I could drink this wine every day. I <3 Tempranillo.

Had a glass > bottle. More acidic than I'd liked, but certainly rich in intensity.

Needed to open up some but really came together after a little breather. Some currant and cranberry with subtle spice and a hint of pipe tobacco. Medium bodied with a gentle tannin structure. Balanced with a moderate finish. Pleasant all around and a very good QPR.
