Light red with an interesting balance of smoke, spice and fruit. Also had a hint of minerality for a red. Fruit was raspberry, plum. Really enjoyable with Italian food.

Jul 3rd, 2019Gorgeous light and delicate example of etna rosso, almost reminiscent of a Pinot noir. Sharp but subtle acidity and lots of mineral notes coming through. Extremely easy to drink!

What a joy! Be it a fennel-pork sausage pizza or a wood grilled octopus, keep pouring this 2012 Nerello Mascalese. Do drain it at one sitting. Oxidation after 24 hours is very apparent.
