100% Cab Sauv from Stagecoach vineyard, deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of dark berry fruits with notes of nutty sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and ripe black cherry with cacao, tobacco and citrus zest. Fine tannins with good backbone, long finish ending with currant fruit, nutty oak and earthy character. Nice, this will still age well, small production.

Only the second vintage of Maze we have tried, last being the 2010.
Deep purplish ruby red. Layered and Rich nose with dark spices, dark raspberries, cinnamon, brown sugar, a touch of anise and Asian five spices. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Rich palate with tons of structure. Voluptuous with notes of tobacco, dried violets, more floral notes, bramble berries and a ton of sweet spices. Long and lingering finish. Definitely has quite a bit of potential. Drink till 2030. | Sample

Excellent recommendation by the sommelier at Del Frisco’s in midtown Manhattan. Deep coloring with full body and mild tannins! My first time; hoping it won’t be my last!

I have had the 2013 and loved it. Now for round two, the 2014. This is another super tasting wine. Simply saying smooth does not do this wine justice You get wonderful flavors of rich dark fruit, dark cherries, fresh plums and hints of tobacco. This is a little strange but the chocolate and spice notes reminded me a bit of Christmas as well. Back to smooth. Think of warm melted high quality chocolate in your mouth except it is has the luscious flavors of a good glass of wine.

May 14th, 2018Great recommendation from the somm at del frisco. Nuanced nose of jammy dark fruits, cedar, vanilla, and lavender. Palate matches with blackberry, late season cranberry, vanilla, and dry oaky tannins. Finish lasts forever. Very pleasant surprise from a producer I didn’t know
