2010 vintage
Overall I love the wines of Vincent Mongeard, I think they are true to their terroir and quite solid, classic burgundies. Here, the vintage sings and I am absolutely captivated by '10 with Mongeard. Although '09 is an early drinker, this '10 is superb, clean, elegant, almost aristocratic. A true Mongeard wine. Give it time as the palate is a bit tight for now. I rather enjoy '09 today and open '10 in a decade or so.

I think I need to just give up on all 2004 Burgundies. Out of close to 100 bottles I have tried, they ALL have the same green/off nose. This obviously had amazing potential, but the strange off smell and green nature just ruin it. Sigh.
