Montepeloso
A Quo Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon Sangiovese
The only wine made from Montepeloso in 2017, all the top fruit was used for the level A Quo and with a triumphing result and plenty of revenue for a modest investment. Ripe yet fresh red and black fruit with an underlying freshness, floral aromas and a dimensional complexity brought by toast, spice, warm rocks and a savory meatiness. Expanding fruit on the palate in casing of fresh acidity and a solid yet soft grip from the ripe tannins. Offensive yet integrated alcohol and balanced act throughout the finish. Quite unusual blend 30% Montepulciano, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20 %Sangiovese, 10% Marselan, 10% Alicante

1 person found it helpfulMay 8th, 2020The 2017 A Quo is the only wine Montepeloso bottled in a brutal, challenging vintage in which dehydration took with it 40% of the potential crop. All of the best fruit went into the entry-level A Quo, which is positively stellar in 2017. Red cherry jam, mint, cedar and wild flowers are all wonderfully fused together in a sumptuous, racy Bolgheri red that punches well above its weight. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2020)

A purplish red color catches your eye as it flows freely into the glass. Fruit forward with red cherries and blackberries with notes of limestone and cinnamon. Medium tannins follow well with its bold and intense richness. This super Tuscan goes well with a nice filet or a meat gravy and pasta! Montepeloso A Quo!

May 15th, 2022An interesting super Tuscan with a pronounced chalkiness giving way to a bright cherry fruit and plenty of acidity.

Jan 23rd, 2021One of my favorite Tuscan wines. Light yet full of flavor. Gorgeous color. Elegant in the mouth.
