This Santa Cruz Mountains AVA trip in San Jose was so much fun. We got really lucky and booked both Ridge and Mount Eden on the same day. In my opinion they are the two best representations of wine produced on this AVA. Unique dirt, grape growing, wine making and history.

Not yet released and that's good. Tightly wound red fruit and the same herbaceous aromas that pervade at the property.

Classic traditional California Cab, built to age, low alcohol ( 13,5 ), and a a great vineyard. Other than possibly Ridge Monte Bello, this is my favorite California Cab. Cedar, plum, dark chocolate

Great lean Cab with loads of aging potential. Leathery, with plum, dark chocolate, bay leaf, black pepper and excellent acidity. Decant at least an hour.

Oh baby, this is class in a glass even young. Perfumed and floral aromatics lead to bright and dense flavors of currants and blackberries. Very nice.

2013 vintage. 85% cab, 7% merlot, 5% cab franc and 3% petite verdot. A little brickish and blackberry nose. Medium body. Great structure and acidity and will only improve once the wine drops that baby fat in a few years. Drinking better than the previous vintage currently.
