Just a Saturday afternoon with my friend R Bowers planning a little wine trip in a few months - did not expect this wine to be this good - “try it you might like it”

Beautiful wine that tastes even better once it’s had air and is paired with a steak!

This is Dave Phinney’s first Zinfandel-based wine since the noncompete associated with his sale of the Prisoner expired; hence the name. Popped and poured. Bold red and dark fruits with a significant amount of anise and black pepper. Medium tannins and a decent amount of acid to give the large amount of fruit some lift. A touch hot...the alcohol showing more as time went on. A fun wine to try and better than I expected but I can already feel palate fatigue setting in. Thanks Neal!

Drank at Jeff and Kelly Gwin’s before bank Christmas party. Earthy, dark fruit, cherry, strawberry. Young, but doesn’t taste it. Try older bottle sometime.

Well balanced wine, I may be under scoring this wine based on my lofty expectations for this come back.

Deep purplish red. Tight nose with red bramble berries, aniseed, dark chocolate, black fruit, savory spices and white pepper. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. A bit peppery on the palate with some bright red berries and flowers. Medium plus finish. Would love to try this next time with a few hours in the decanter. Drink till 2025.
