Clear ruby with more extraction than typical for 2011. Nose of black raspberries, plums, and some wet stone minerality. Very pretty black raspberry fruit with black pepper highlights framed by zippy acid. Reminds me of why 2011 was a spectacular vintage in the right hands. And these are the right hands.

Lots of smokey char bacon flavor up front, I presume from the barrel. Smells a little of black licorice and dried black cherry, the black cherry flavor comes through when tasting. Maybe a little white pepper in the nose too and a little pepper in the finish. I'd happily put this in my belly.

This is beautiful Oregon Pinot. Great berries and some light spice. Also a kind of floral/grass component. Very fresh despite being 6 years old.

Exquisite Pinot Noir from Oregon. The winemaker called it broad-shouldered which is perfect. It's layered and elegant. Graphite pencil aromatics. On the palate, you have cheery, fig, cigar box, and a malty tea.

If a little dull on opening, it came around nicely into a lean but elegant, red-fruited wine. Day 3: this really matured into place with interesting earthy and plummy aromatics. Maybe hold this one a few years...

Bright red fruit. Too sweet and oakey for my tastes.

Lots of earth and mineral. Rhubarb and kale and dark cherry. Supple tannins. Cocoa finish. Fantastic.
