Pedroncelli
Mother Clone Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
A spicy and fairly typical Zen nose with no hints of being cooked. Sweet reddish to black fruit, very nice acid and spice. Slightly chewy. The fruit is tamed by hints of leather and earth.

Aug 3rd, 2018What's not to like - many hallmarks of Cali Zin: dark super ripe fruit not too jammy, bit of pepper & spice, vanilla & cassis, generous medium body decent acidity & length - not for the philosophers

Aug 28th, 2016Jammy, bit of pepper, nice tannin. I love dry creek, old-vine zins.

May 24th, 2015The nose has a mild sweet oak texture. Flavors have a fruity, jammy feel of mostly blackberry and mild cherry. There is no tartness which help bring out the fruit flavors. The oak flavor holds throughout the taste without being oaky. That sounds confusing, but I just mean people that don't like oaky wines will not be turned off from this... It's approachable. The finish has a nice peppery spice and a vague cigar flavor that lingers without being too strong. The wine is overall light to medium, well balanced, fruit driven with a quality spice. For the price this is a great buy. Especially for those that don't like any overpowering flavors. Higher price point would make me more critical.
