Lovely savory Grange. Deep and rich with evergreen overtones and rosemary oil. Will last for 40 more years. Great balance. Powerful nose and aromatics.

1980 vintage, drank in 2024. It pours very smoothly, old mauve colour getting close to orange/brown. Darker colour in the centre, common for thicker skinned grapes like Shiraz. Strong smoky smells on first smell, dark fruit smells on second smell. Similar flavours coming through on the palette, smoky and fruit. Opens up in the mouth over time. Opening up longer it’s been decanted.

1980 vintage. Tasting with Peter Gago at Magill Estate. One of the highlights of the tasting and seemed to improve markedly with air. Balanced and long. Quite typically Grange. A great bottle. Might keep for another decade still.

1980 vintage. Just your casual Tuesday night tipple. What a treat! Peppery and smooth! Yum!

Slight brick red on the rim belying its 35 years of age. Delicious notes of cedar, tobacco and red fruit on the nose. Complex and a bit gamey in the mouth but still very compelling to drink. Feels lighter than you would imagine.

Good fresh acidity on this bottle of 82. Dark fruits with minty notes. The tannins was a little too grippy for me- I cannot imagine how this wine taste like when it was young. Overall- still a great chance to taste a wine like this.
