Grange Hermitage Bin 95 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

A big mouthful of wine. Lavishly oaked with plenty of structure. Fruit is showing some maturity. Not sure if this will ever knit. I would give it a splash decant and fire away. Yummy!

From dinner at Mcgills Estate. Deep dark ruby. Opaque. Notes of dark berries, iron, stone, Rich and chewy. Still one dimensional. Needs more time.

This was in a great place. Tannins have softened but the wine still retains structure. Complex mix of red and dark fruit, tobacco and earthiness. Just outstanding. Not sure this wine can get better.

99 & 01 Here the 99 was clearly the favorite of the group youthful showing dark fruits, spice , menthol with perfect balance that should age gracefully for many years

2001 vintage. Deglet Noor dates, wet leather and überripe blackberries rollicking and frolicking throughout the experience. Small spice component as well. Medium-heavy body…still. Courtesy of @Bill Bender

Deep colour, not that expressive, generally a let down. Don’t believe the hype.

2001 Shiraz. Wedding present. Was outstanding.

Just wow, it could have been cellared longer but that did not detract from the iconic wine. Fruit and slight bit of pepper on the front followed by a grand ending of smooth berries and a hint of earth.

Big nose. Aromatically complex. In its style - amazing. Plumb, liquorice, chocolate, but with slightly stewed fruit in the mid palate. Intense, big, alcoholic. The best and most complex I've had of the big Aussie shirazes but a very big drink.

Great start for my virgin Grange thanks to some wonderful friends!! 15 years and just cruising. Nose, colour, palate and length all in a great place.
