Rouge Côtes Catalanes Grenache Blend

Ridiculously cheap and good cook-out wine. Nose just oozes crushed blackberry and raspberry fruit. Clean and fruity, with a tad of stony minerality in the mouth. Nicer with a light chill.

For $12 this is quite a wine. It lacks structure on the palate, but the flavors are purely Mediterranean - chaparral, anise, leather, tobacco, smoke, dust, rosemary and cassis. Resinous, savory, and a steal. 52% Grenache, 36% Carignan, 12% Syrah.

Light and earthy

Tart and moderately astringent. Refreshing

New Seasons, also Freddie's

2015 vintage. Cherry, blackberry, a little spice and smoke. Odd, almost bitter finish. 14% ABV.

Very drinkable and good value. Sweet cherry open with a peppery finish

Not a standout, but seemed like it might be slightly off? Some gamey, smoky notes. Heat on the finish.

Fun rose in the middle of vacation, nothing extraordinary but good value

Very nice red blend. Rich but not heavy on the bottom.
