Peter Vinding-Diers
Cuvée Suzanne Montecarrubo Syrah
Nose starts out reductive but I’m sure it will blow off. There’s olive and dark berry fruit as well. Ripe as well. I‘ll be back on the nose. Palate is structured and deep with plenty of black pepper, dark berry fruit and olive. As this airs the reduction is blowing off but the palate has major structure right now along with great fruit but thus wine needs mega mega air. Superb purity, grip and concentration with sappy berry fruit and ripe but substantial tannins. This needs significant air and I’ll be back a solid 9.2 for now.
9.2 to 9.3 now. Silkier and juicier on the palate with nice substance and depth. Very good.

Wow. Unadulterated purple Syrah fruit. Blackberry and black pepper, not meaty but smokey, savory and mineral. Rich pastry notes. Pretty doughiness like unbaked pastry dough. Ripe, but with gentle extraction so that this is transparent and just caresses the palate. Fantastic combination of precision and deliciousness.
