This has a fascinating nose. Roses, red berries, sweet yellow flowers. Lush and open on the palate. Quite delicate. Lacks a bit of steel but has a really pretty and unique palate. Excellent- very good given the vintage.

Soft composed lemon, brioche, minerals. This is lush and open knit but has good balance. The best 03 champagne I’ve had by a long stretch. Definition and pretty secondary notes. Very good.

Very soft and supple. Open knit with honey, apple and brioche. Lacks some cut but mellow and yummy. Interesting due to the vintage.

Sheer balance, no sign of over-ripeness here. Majestic

Can't hope for the new year to be better if you don't ring it in with the best. Cheers to everyone out there. Thanks for a great year! #philipponnat #closdesgoisses #monopole #vintagechampagne #saberit

Few even had the ability to make an 03. Definitely atypical. Green.

Disgorged October '12, this wine exhibits baked, spiced apples, brioche and autolysis with a depth usually reserved for still wine. Yes, color is golden and the wine drinks exceptionally easy now, this can go further and is quite compelling for a vintage known for hot growing conditions.

I know, a 2003 Champers so how could it be any good? Well, mineral, citrus, with a hint of ginger- yes ginger- framed by nice yeasty/oxidative notes. Not surprisingly a ripe quality to the flavor and finish with good acidity; and very much a "wine" first in presentation with Champagne breeding. Fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable.

Very rich fruit, big but with sufficient freshness, chalky and mineraly. Apricot preserves and delicate bread. This is very interesting stuff. Fun to drink!
