Interesting red blend that features the Baga (85%) grape. Blended with Touriga National (15%). Very dark color but lighter in body than I would have expected. Bright and jammy red fruit aromas and flavors with hints of prunes and dark chocolate. Solid acidity and very long finish. Moderate finish and tannins. In a very good place right now. Thanks for sharing and insisting we open this one, Ron B!

Very interesting wine made with 80% Baga grapes. The 2012 was still fresh with nice acidity and fleshy dark fruit. Great mouthfeel and long subtle finish.
A bargain.

A really well executed blend of the obscure Baga varietal with Touriga Nacional. Once it fully opens the nose is quite aromatic with black olive, baking spice, gravelly earth and dark fruit. The palate is medium-plus in body and plush with blackberry and plum. Even with six years of age the acidity is still kicking and the tannins are present but approachable. Further proof of the amazing deals available in Portuguese red blends as the structure and complexity on display at $17 rival new world bottles priced at $30.

Hard for me to describe exactly what i am tasting, but I know I like it. The property these grapes were sourced from have been in the family since the 12th century. Baga and Touriga Nacional blend. Red fruits soft tannins, elegant structure and long finish are all the trapings of a very good wine.

Clean, bright red fruit, a touch of smoke, interesting and good.
