Revisited one of my old favorites. This #zinfandel is very dark in the glass with deep purple hues. The body is heavy and compact with a somewhat fresh and cassis like. Tasting a savory component as the seed. Mildly tannic, moderate acid. #wine

Feb 24th, 2021So accessible and friendly. An incredibly balanced and flexible Zin. It’s got the intense ripe fruit of a typical Dry Creek Valley Zin, but showing more of a red fruit profile than the more typical blackberry. A bit of gravelly earth and spice are there too. Nicely concentrated, alcohol and tannins in check, good acids. My dog Zinny, who we had from 2006 until Nov. 2020, would have approved. Here’s to a better year ahead for the Delectable community.

Jan 3rd, 2021Cherries and plums with a slightly bitter finish. A bit of leather on the tip of the tongue. Nice with pasta, pizza or a steak.
