Ramey Wine Cellars
Rodger's Creek Vineyard Syrah
Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, USA

2019 vintage. Leaner than other Ramey Syrah efforts but with ample earth and drying tannins that both pleasantly linger. Well made and complex. Not a starter Syrah. 12.10.25.

Dec 10th, 2025Currants and dark plums, which would benefit from decanting to soften the tannins. Pairs well with fatty food.

Sep 27th, 2025The latest release (2025) of the Rodgers Creek Syrah is not Ramey’s best. The nose is a lovely rose and earthy mix but the wine is thin, tannic and shows little fruit on the palate compared to the more classic Rhone style Syrah that is typical. Perhaps time will help but other vintages seem ore promising.
