Ever wanted to taste a high-end Albariño. Well. This is it. Vegetal like Grüner, full bodied and tropical like Viognier. Will ponder this wine for dayzzzz.

This wine is firing with electricity and deep mineral cut. It’s a little much at the moment but it’ll pair with just about any food in front of it. Interested to see what happens with this stuff in the longer term, even 5 years. The stuff is so cheap that most will have a hard time keeping their bottles closed. Given a little time to integrate all that energy I imagine this will stand up to some of the legends of Chablis (like super solid village or straight premier cru from a dope producer). Lucky to have a handful of these. Get yours before people find out what’s up.

Wet rocks and sea salt, so acidic. Sad I’m not sitting in front a plate oysters with this. So good.

Absolutely perfect for a summer evening. Nose of fresh line & cut grass. Bright acid & more citrus on the palate. Complex & textured. Raul Perez really delivered on this bottling.

Lovely orange that’s funky enough to be interesting but not so much that it overwhelms the charcuterie

Unquestionably great, but a Burgundian architecture may not be the answer for high-end Albariño. Very high mineral definition combined with wood aging makes it bottom heavy even with lively aroma and bright acidity. The mid-range lacks transparency and presence, but only in comparison with magnificent highs and lows. The winemaker's mastery is bit too much in evidence instead of the terroir. Too much control and not enough freedom. Maybe little too refined and sophisticated on the surface, even though it does have soul.
