Took around two hours to really open, but once it did this became gorgeous. The nose blossoms with deep cherry fruit, roses, chestnut and layers of spice, especially cardamom, clove and cinnamon, with that unmistakably old-school Alpine Nebbiolo character underneath. The palate is incredibly juicy and beautifully balanced, with concentrated cherry fruit, excellent freshness and a very elegant, silky texture. Serious depth without heaviness, lovely purity and a long, increasingly expressive finish. Stunning Valgella, and flirting with 9.5 as it continues to unfurl. Stunning tiny berry fruit intensity and terrific length. High class tannins with a skoche of rusticity.

Oct 28th, 2026Unreal old school Nebbiolo nose. Chestnut, dried leaves, desiccated mid season cherry skins, sour early season cherry and some tar. Only just open and usually needs 3 hours but forward aromatically for a young Valgella. Charcoal and burning embers. Such a wine of place. Unreal concentration and density. Juicy and forward for a young Valgella. Dense and thick but so fresh. Damp leaves, soil tones and tremendous lift. Ripe but substantial tannins. Grape and old chestnut. But really fans out on the finish. Great stuff!!

Immensely age worthy.
Nose: exquisite. Virgin pink roses. White flowers. The musk of beauty. So precise.
Hint of orange peel as it opens.
Palate: this ephemeral embryo of a cherry. Hint of cocoa. Silky. Just perfect.
