Jan 21st, 2023Catching up on some recent TNs. This was deep and dark with an awesome nose. Notes of black fruit, menthol, slate stone and spice. Rich and silky in the mouth. Long finish. In a great drinking zone and likely to remain there for a decade or two.

Dec 15th, 2022Scarlet tawny, similar in color and depth with the 99 Delas Hermitage sitting next to it. With enough air this shows as rich and flamboyant in the nose. Notes of ripe black cherries, rose petals, spice and moist earth. Powerful yet graceful on the mouth. Has great impact. It’s in what is likely a long and rewarding drinking window.

Layered, dense and gamey, black cherries, espresso, camphor, minerals, damp earth, hints of black pepper and finely integrated tannins. The finish is long and precise.

Apr 13th, 2019Dark tawny with light amber rims. Almost opaque. Rich fruit nose. Notes of black cherry, blueberries, plums, moist field brush and a little menthol. There’s a warmth to this. Well balanced. Great now but will hold off a few more years before the next one.

WOTN. Amazingly fresh, yet evolved into fascinating complexity. Leathery and meaty/smokey at first, then red fruit sprinkled with lots of black pepper is revealed. There's good fruit presence on the palate too, with obviously-once-brooding tannins nicely softened by time. A long, satisfying finish. Rostaing rocks!
