Kind of unusual for a Ridge Zin because this is very open and fruity, rather than reserved and balance-centric. Nose is friendly, with sweet, ripe blackberry fruit, a bit of vanilla from the American oak, and some nice warm gravel scents. In the mouth it’s loose and flowing, with ripe fruit and a prominent sandstone minerality. Good intensity and some soft tannin is that as well. Soft acids. This is all about immediate pleasure.
