Estate Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
Bold but beautiful. Drinking nice now but could go another 10.

Apr 18th, 2018This is absolutely gorgeous. Black tea, licorice root, graphite, smoke, burnt popcorn kernel, musty Bordeaux style. Tremendous structure, dusty chalk and dynamic acidity, especially for California Cabernet. Black pepper, heat and severity with tremendous nuance and quite a set of balls. Baby Monte Bello...all of the complexity with a little less of the weight.

Dec 25th, 2017Gorgeous mountain style cab. A great lift on the mid palate that stops this from being heavy. Oak, fruit, and the tertiary notes of mint, minerality, and soft organic earth are all in harmony. Brilliant now. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Structure is excellent - bright acid, present but not gristly tannin.

Has a long life ahead of it, young. American oak, pure fruit, intense, good stuff. 13. hours later, the fruit is crazy intense, dark, the wood is more of an accent. Love the wine, love the packaging...the first label that ever really stood out to me.

Jun 18th, 2017It's very hard to tell this one because I feel like it's a baby. Somehow softer than the Merlot! New American oak on the nose that quickly dissipates. Young but concentrated. Gorgeous color. Juicy berry fruit, shocking restraint, vanilla cola finish, sticky tannins.

Jun 9th, 2017Definitely young. Would love to hold this for 10 years. Tannic, somewhat vegetal with some black fruit. Lovely and extremely elegant.

Dec 20th, 2014Forgot to rate this last week, popped this on a Wednesday after dinner to enjoy by itself. Open special occasion wines on regular days and make the wine the occasion. Ridge. Monte Bello Estate fruit. Excellent.
