Rôtie Cellars
Southern Blend Washington State Grenache Blend
Starting to soften just slightly and drinks well now with a short decant. Bright red fruits from the grenache, some darker and more savory elements from the mourvedre and just a touch of syrah which I can’t pick out on the palate but makes for a nice bouquet.

May 8th, 2019A well made red that showcases the bright and crisp grenache fruit at this young stage. Shows structure with medium+ acidity and some mild tannin. The mourvedre and syrah components are just peaking out from behind the wall of grenache and should add some interesting complexity down the road.

Jan 26th, 2019Lush and savory. Loads of ashy minerality with dark black berry fruit underneath. Texturally it’s the bomb. Just soaks to all parts of your mouth. Lots of Walla Walla fruit?

Jan 23rd, 2019Nose gives off sultry and low-toned scents of cracked dark stones, a note of iodine, and smoky crushed dark blackberry. Mouthfilling, soft, and with broad swaths of dark minerality. Very savory, with a clingy tactile quality. I swear, the basaltic rocks and silt in Walla Walla really do unique things to grapes grown there. So good.

Jul 14th, 2018From our family GSM tasting/get together. All wines tasted single blind.
Very pure fruit in the nose, good mid-palate concentration, nice length and balance. Maybe lacked complexity. (Although this was not the consensus #1 pick, it was the first bottle emptied.)

Big and jammy, but well integrated and a lot of interesting spice notes to boot :)

Sep 11th, 2016Light ruby with thin edges in the glass. So much Grenache goodness on the nose with red cherry, fragrant herbs, white pepper, and a touch of floral notes. This is definitely a lighter, leaner version of Rhône but it’s one that works. For my money, this is Washington really excels at, these GSM blends. Smooth tannins, medium body, and not much heat from the alcohol. Wonderful black and red fruit on the palate along with smokiness, herbs, and nutmeg. Ridiculous amount of fun in this bottle.
