Give this plenty of air to open up, and even then I think it's built for the long haul. Immediate gratification this is not.

Rich caramel nose, full of cherry and blackberry. Catching a lot of heat off this bottle. Velvety tannins round off a full bodied wine of blackberry and some subtle spices.

Dense and fairly rich. Good structure and texture. Seems like it should age well. I am not knowledgable about Portugese wines, but am interested in learning more.

A very California wine with a lot of acidity and alcohol present that is slightly overwhelming the other tastes. But a solid wine.

Deep inky in color with a short purplish rim.

Fruity nose with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, figs, green vegetables, bell pepper, wet stones, beef jerky, wood, cloves, alcohol, vinaigrette, cola, vanilla, bitter herbs, pencil lead, spices and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and bold with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate, and fruity with blackberries, black plums, oak, cloves, bitter herbs, green vegetables, bell pepper, forest floor, spices, meats, black tea and peppercorn.

Bitter long finish with spices and bitter vegetable.

This is a nice red wine from Portugal. Almost balanced, with great complexity and a nice mouthfeel. A little bitter on palate and earthy. Big and bold, but not ready yet. Above average, but needs a couple of years in the bottle, and an hour to open up properly.

100% Touriga Nacional. Aged for 12 months in Oak barrels.

I paired it with hard cheeses and crackers.

14% alcohol by volume.

Deep inky in color with a short purplish rim.

On the nose blueberries, raspberries, plums, cherries, alcohol, toasted oak, vanilla, cloves, licorice, dust, wet rocks vegetables, herbs, graphite, earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, spices and peppercorn.

Medium-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, red currants, earth, forest floor, smoke, toasted oak, eucalyptus, spices, green herbs and black pepper.

Nice length on the on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

A very enjoyable red wine from Portugal. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and a nice bite.
Soft, with nice complexity and a tangy ending.

This five-year-old is drinking nicely now and will be good in the next couple of years.
Reminded me of a lighter California Zinfandel, although it is earthier.

Drinkable right out of the bottle, but gets its tannins and some complexity after 30 minutes in a decanter.

I paired it with Parmesan cheese and crackers.

100% Touriga Nacional grapes, aged for 12 months in Oak barrels.
