Never had a sparkler like this. Slightly oxidative with rhubarb tart and bright/ripe bing cherries on the nose. Not much chalk or limestone on the palate...or citrus notes of any kind. Mousse was fairly light. There was a really unique sweet red fruit characteristic I was struggling to identify...overripe honeycrisp apple, maybe? Fun to try. Thanks @Weston Eidson

While I was thankful for the chance to be able to try this sparkler, I don’t think I will be purchasing it again, especially for $85. It just doesn’t drink anywhere within that price point. This wine lacked acidity, structure, and balance. With notes of mandarin, apricot, and orange zest these vibrant fruits were overpowered by a finish that reminded me of a cheap Prosecco; bitter orange rind and rubbing alcohol.

Very different from the last vintage with much less bread-like and yeast type character. Still very good with a beautiful pale rose color and medium sized bubbles. The fruit aromatics show strawberry and citrus and there is a toasty character although not as strong as the 2012. Will look forward to revisiting with the next bottle side by side with a 2012.
