1989 vintage. A rare weak vintage for Napa. Smooth plummy/cocoa nose. Fully formed and light bodied. What little stuffing it had in the first decade of life is largely gone. Elegant framework but a simple finish.

A little bready now but still sweet core and melted tannins. Cork was dry though but wine seemed fine.

Mature red fruit and savory to the 9th degree. Would have preferred livelier but still enjoyable...

Drank it in mag so it could've have been a 95/6 vintage easy as still years to go but not as high alcohol as those years and seemed more balanced. This is still a baby with 20 years of maturation for secondary flavors/ nuances to be shown. Still a lovely wine but much too young in mags.

Soft red fruits & light finish that got lost in the Dominus/ Mouton flight.
