I did a blind head to head tasting with Robert Mondavi ‘14 Napa Cab. Ruby with aromas of fresh dark fruits and subtle spice. The palate shows dried fruits plums and blackberries and with faint herb notes, some cedar and notes of sweet cacao. The finish has good length, firm tannins, noted oak and is well balanced with acidity. Nice value. Hands down the tasting panel preferred Robert Mondavi.

A big gut punch of fruit. Almost too much fruit forward. Not well balanced. Mild tannins and a lot of acidity. Dark currants and blackberry. If you want a lot of fruit this is for you. If you want better balance try another Sterlings cab.

Decadent full-bodied wine, which features flavors of black plum and boysenberry, leading to a long, elegant finish. This Cabernet will cellar well, or can be enjoyed now, would go with grilled meat, roasts, and other hearty dishes.
