Pencil box and smokey cedarwood on the nose, and a racy, velvety tannin lacing a dark ripe pallet - black plum jam, black pepper, graphite, mocha, and a smooth, fresh finish. Has even a Penfolds feel to it... like McClaren Vale, but Yakima Valley. It was absolutely delicious, and went very well with smoked eggplant and lamb kabob.

Tannins are present, but opening up very well! This Syrah did not disappoint. Pencil shavings, rich, dark fruit purée with a touch of licorice - flavor profile falls between northern Rhône Syrah and Aussie Shiraz. 14.8% alcohol. Definitely giving this vintage a strong recommendation.
