Napa Valley Merlot

Monthly WTF group. Theme this month was merlot. All wines tasted blind.

I guessed domestic merlot between 2012-2014 from Napa. Very classic merlot. Ripe red and black fruits on the nose, slightly floral on the palate, as well as cedar wood, with good acidity. Thanks @Andrew Heffley

v18. Pretty good! Soft, Smokey nose. Fresh, rich blackberry fruit. Smooth, semi-dry, slightly chewy, leather finish. Enjoyable.

This is classic Napa merlot. Good balance, some oak, good acidity, overall very good. Would buy again.

Soft, supple, and spicy. Not as powerful or mouth filling as prior vintages but it was a tough year. Solid, but not spectacular from a reliable producer.

Pretty light. Not much happening in the flavor profile. Some faint plum and cherry. Probably paid too much. We'll give it some time in the glass and see if it opens.

Very light. Vegetal but vegetal.
