There are very few moments in my time that have had a greater call for Champagne than when I opened this, on June 3rd 2025. My football team here in the UK, Oldham Athletic, promoted for the first time in my life, which I watched at Wembley. I know this seems quite trivial and meaningless to most of you, but I must document it here, so please indulge me. Up the Latics!
As for the wine, this was a hasty cellar pull and I didn’t want anything OTT. But isn’t Taittinger fantastic? For me, one of the best Grandes Marques pound-for-pound. This bottle had a bit of age too. Really superb, drinkable stuff.

I picked this up a few years ago. Glad I didn’t hold onto it any longer. Perfect time to open. Golden in colour. Soft bubbles. Champagne and oysters… no better pairing.

Эту бутылка (0.375) прекрасного Tattinger встретила меня на берегу в Hurawalhi после завершения исторического заплыва от Kudadhoo до Hurawalhi ( первого в истории курорта) Я проплыл 2,2 км за 1 час 5 минут. Очень горжусь этим. И нежное ледяное и очень минеральное шампанское Tattinger brut пришлось как нельзя кстати!

Feb 18th, 2021Выпито на балконе Al-Husn 10 ноября 2019 года. Достойный брют для столь необычно холодной ( +25’С) и ветреной погоды. Очень нежный- идеально сочетался с Мончего и обнинским овечьим с трюфелем. Мое.
