Nerello time. Bright red berry fruit, herbal notes and expected firm mineral structure. Perhaps from newer vines. Hits all the notes but doesn't have the depth I find in my faves...

It's rather light. Almost like a Pinot, but it has backbone. Don't overpower this with sauce, I'm thinking a nice mushroom risotto. :)

Soft, balanced, leather, cherry, a little smoky quality. Looks light and past its prime, but it is definitely not! Wish I had another.

Love nerello mascalese. Cherry - black & red, tea & slight dirt/iron. Good acid. Slovenian oak provides some clove spice and med tannic profile.

Interesting. Reminds me in ways of both Pinot and Nebbiolo, yet the the mineral is distinct. There may be little empirical scientific evidence that supports minerality in wine, but I taste volcano!!!!
