Black fruit and pipe tobacco on the very elegant nose. Fruity, but well balanced with sweet black berry, tobacco, and leather on the palate. Medium finish.

Purple hue with ruby rim variation. Noticeable extraction and moderate tearing. Candied black and red fruit on the nose; blackberry, raspberry, cassis; dried roses; potpourri; potting soil, molasses, and anise notes; cedar box and vanilla. Smooth, soft tannins on the palate. Dry. Palate is largely consistent with the nose, but definitely fruit-forward and noticeable new oak.
