Popped and poured; enjoyed over several hours. The 2011 Terre Nere Brunello di Montalcino Riserva pours a very pretty garnet color with a translucent core. Viscosity is medium with light staining of the tears. There appears to be some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, beautiful, lush, thicc red fruits: bruised strawberry, dessicated cherry, orangettes, leather, porchini, caffe mocha, and stony earth. On the palate, the structure is still very much intact: medium+ tannin, medium (+?) acid. The notes from the nose are confirmed. The finish is long and savory. The warmth of 2011 was managed really well and the 15% posted abv is completely held in check. Bravissimo! Drinking really well right now and will continue to do so through 2030.

Dark fruit and coffee. Full, rich mouthfeel. Earthy funk on the finish. Feeling the mothership connection on this one.
