Apr 22nd, 2016Over the past week, I opened the Terry Hoage 2009 and 2011 Syrah, both were woefully out of balance. The fruit was certainly concentrated and all there, but very one dimensional. The tannins were still present but not doing much to prop up the wine. I was a member of the Terry Hoage wine club for a few years. These Syrahs aren't holding up and I don't think it's just a closed phase. Bummer.
