Dense dark color. Aroma of earth, campfire, marshmallow, Smore’s! Prunes, plums, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon, pipes. Smooth on the tongue. Full bodied. Dark dried fruit, pepper, tobacco. High alcohol. I honestly think I haven’t had merlot since college (for a number of reasons). It kind of brings me back. To poetry, jazz, coffee houses, intensity, expectations. It tastes like you want to love it but as it draws you in you realize you’re in over your head.
