I needed a big spicy red to pair with my spice-rubbed pork loin chops. The saturated blue/purple '03 Ojai Syrah 'White Hawk Vineyard' was the ideal choice. The expressive nose oozed with earthy black fruits, pencil shavings and licorice aromas. Complex liqueur-like flavors of espresso, cassis and bay leaf followed before melting into a penetrating and creamy finish.
