I really don't understand the hype. At all. It was an ok red blend. Super full body, almost overwhelming at times. At least the finish wasn't too sweet?

I know The Prisoner is very popular, but I've tried it a few times now and it's just not my style. Too much oak and not enough complexity. Some bret in this one, too. I really want to like it, but the balance and complexity just isn't there for me.

I don't know. I used to love this wine but my taste has changed so much. I used to favor heavily extracted, massively over ripe full bodied wines, and I just prefer terroir now. I don't believe this wine gets below the soil at all. It's all long hang time, overripe grapes and syrupy fruit. There is some balancing tannin, but candied cranberry, maraschino cherry, and plum take the cake here. Pronounced chocolate as well. It's fine, but, I just don't get down with this anymore.

More going on here than I expected but still extremely extracted. Not a good value but a good wine.

The 2013 vintage. Big fruit big flavor moderate oak. Better than before.

For a young wine, this is a great wine. Deep purple on color. Medium bodied on the palette with a nice long lingering finish. A must.

Tight initially - lots of alcohol - then opened up with red fruits with air ... Better in 3-5y
