Titus
Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Muscular strength and dark concentration - its noticeably different than their other wines due to the vineyard site, as well as the use of 100% new French Oak. Instead of being sourced from the main property where the white label cabernet is, the Reserve is sourced from their separate family estate on Ehlers lane, where it is on a bit higher elevation, on a free draining hill.
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot - big, bold, dark, and intense - mocha, blackberry reduction, black pepper, chewy tannin.. definitely a little peppery on the nose but not overly to the point of being too much. Meant for some good ol' Cali BBQ tri-tip.

This is one of those not smart decision we all make. Oh this looks good. Not thinking that it should wait to be opened. But oh well! Okay, I never have claimed to be an expert which is obvious if you dig into my posts, but this wine has a nose that I absolutely could not figure out. I would appreciate feedback on your opinions for the 2015. This will be a good glass of wine. Just not now. Yes it is big, tannic, with the classic big cab notes. Just wait till it comes into its own. Decanting for 45 minutes really did not help, more was need I am sure. I am sure it will rate higher in a couple of years.
