Today I am trying the 2012 Trefethen Chardonnay. After the earthquake they recently experienced and the damage they suffered I thought I would like to try their wines. I am pleasantly surprised and enjoying this Chardonnay. The aroma is wonderful full of pineapple, lemon, other citrus notes, butter cream and white flowers. On the palate I get nice lemon zest, peach, mild butter, good minerality, medium + acidity and a good long lingering finish. This is a well balanced Chardonnay and bought at $26.99.

Paired with a grilled mixed seafood dinner, balanced acids and tannins, not too hot = great wine!

Oaky, cloying, sharp. Pour out. My mother in law is slurping it up. Nice decoy wine.

Honeyed apple with some floral notes, mid weight with good texture leading into toasty oak and creaminess on the finish, but not too overly pronounced
