Truchard
Carneros Roussanne
A small winery in the Carneros region of Napa managed by Tony and Jo Ann Truchard successfully growing grapes for over 40 years. Sits on French oak (20% new) for 6 months. Aromas of tropical fruits and sweet honey. On the palate pineapple and apricot flavors, subtle spice and fresh acidity. Lingering finish ending flinty with citrus mineral tones. Small production 1900 cases, must try. Nice!

Jan 16th, 2018Consistently my favorite new world expression of the grape. Possesses all that honeyed character I love with that added California lushness.

Jan 8th, 2017A serious fav! Last btl. Struck by the balance this wine has with its delicately plump juiciness and bright acidity. I've never bought a case of any one wine but I'd consider it here.

Mar 28th, 2017I just love this wine. It's from the Napa Valley, but transports you to Provence, where white wines are not prissy. Macintosh apples are dominated by smoke and herbes de Provence, supported by firm structure. A tour de force by an old and established family vineyard. Great stuff.

Dec 23rd, 2016Recommended by Mrs. Truchard during our recent Napa trip! Now want to order a case! Smooth like butter and has a hint of buttered popcorn smell! If ever in Napa, book a tour with Mrs. Truchard - wonderful and intimate!

One of the few wines I re buy. My first experience was stellar so was excited to visit the winery over a year ago. Was disappointed with how this wine drank that day but was hopeful it just needed time.....BOOM! Mellow honey softness, tree fruit with a round, semi fullness and the perfect hint of acidity on the finish. DELICIOUS!
