Exceptional 10-year bottle. No doubt it could be discovered at a much later date. Deep burgundy with a light brown halo. Aromas of strawberry jam and chocolate. Swirl opens a floral bouquet and dark spice/peppercorns. Hints of cherries and plums. And...is it mushrooms toward the end? Balance of structure and femininity. Very interesting and will make you contemplate long after you finish the glass.

2006. Probably should have popped this one sooner. Very high ABV at 15.9. I think Zin aficionados would love this one, but not my cup of tea.

After popping the cork I thought it had gone bad. Tasted it and although the alcohol was very pronounced, it tasted great. After decanting it for 30 minutes, and cooling it off to 55°F, it tastes fine and the alcohol almost vanished. It developed notes and flavors of mature and candied fruits, leather and fresh herbs. On the palate it is sweet but there's enough acid to reach some balance. The finish is short but pleasant.
