Two Hands
Lily's Garden McLaren Vale Shiraz
I haven’t had a lot of experience with Two Hands and it is probably better known in the USA than Australia - like Mollydooker. Aromas of Plum, oak spice, liquorice and prune. On the full bodied palate there were sweet plummy characters with dark bitter chocolate - Opulent. My wife, Barb, loved this and she doesn’t normally like big SA Shiraz - this became more medium bodied , strangely enough, with time in decanter. Skilful use of premium McLaren Vale fruit making it a delight to drink - very enjoyable.

1 person found it helpfulJan 20th, 2022Rich and ripe. Full bodied and lush. Full of plum and dark chocolate. Accepting that one can make Shiraz in many different ways according to temperature and geography I happen to like this wine and also the cool climate peppery version of the same grape variety. Vive La difference.!

Oct 20th, 2016Two Hands probably better known in the USA than in Australia - similar to Mollydooker helped by very favourable reviews from Wine Spectator. Also similar wine styles that cram the last bit of fruit into a powerful but enjoyable palate full of plum and dark chocolate. A luscious wine driven by ripe fruit in a good vintage. 18+.

Jun 29th, 2015Dark plum and purple. Big body, structured fruit. Velvety.
Some harmless buildup, decanting helped.

May 14th, 2014Pitch black in the glass. Aromas of blueberry syrup, star anise, lifted violets, and crushed black pepper. Creamy elegance comes across in the mouth-feel with rich dark fruits of blueberry and black current. Culminates with notes of dark chocolate, with well balanced tannins and acidity and lasting finish of sour blueberries.
