A pretty little baby Brunello. Another year or two should mellow out the stern tannin. Fresh, snappy acidity with sour cherry, cranberry, and currants, some tobacco and herbs add complexity.

This is a lovely Rosso with super minerality that reminds me a bit of pencil lead. Nice dark cherry fruit with balsamic undernotes, medium plus length, a real treat!

Super young & concentrated. Needs air & time to come around. Then, much deliciousness & Montalcino-ness come through.

The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino captures the essence of this site rich in clay and limestone, where the wines are ample and broad in style. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, lavender and spice notes blossom in a resonant Rosso loaded with personality. This is a fabulous showing from Andrea Cortonesi. (AG)
