Wow! Bought this weird large format (3.78L = 1 Gallon) Gattinara from Flatiron Wines. Thanks to Theo at La Compagnie for offering to open it with Port tongs. Opened and decanted with a large group of friends. Less sediment than you would expect or at least less than in many Travaglini. Worked our way through three bottles over the course of 60+ minutes, leaving two by the side to see how they evolved. Good fruit for a 46 year old wine, that started out with a bit of red and then evolved to more dark and more earth and mushroom came out too.
