Roero Arneis
For the ABC crowd... a lovely unoaked white we enjoyed during our summer stay in Piedmont. White peach, lemon curd, honeysuckle, and mineral with plenty of acidity. An easy drinker with a high QPR. Arneis can run from a lighter pale yellow style (most common) to a more full-bodied tropical golden style (Bruno Giacosa).

May 16th, 2019This was a delightful addition to the evening’s frivolities. Stone fruits, honeysuckle and minerals. Lovely. Drink now.

Just a stunning Arneis, one of the best I've experienced.

Sep 5th, 2018Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has chilled hay, lemon zest, sweet pear, mountain stream and river rocks.
Palate has ripe pear, cold mango, under-ripe pineapple, mineral water and a medium finish. A slightly different bottle then prior experiences, mildly less expressive.

Nose has straw bale, lemon pith, lemon peel, light florals (Honeysuckle + Forsythia), Bosch pear peel and wet river rocks.
Palate has squeeze of lemon into pear juice, crushed granite, clementine peel, cold tropical fruits, great acidity with slight lingering sweetness on the long finish. Minor effervescent mouthfeel.
I say boldly, this is the best vintage yet for this particular wine. Very expressive, a total crowd pleaser, that is, if in the midst of the pandemic you're able to find a crowd to share with...and confirm pleasing.
