The NV Brut Grand Cellier is bright, effusive and wonderfully charming. White flowers, chalk, mint and lemon confit give this mid-weight, nervy Champagne tons of energy. All the elements are so nicely put together. I especially like the energy and crystalline purity here. There are a lot of terrific wines in this range, but the Grand Cellier is quintessentially Vilmart. This release is based on 2019, with the addition of reserve wines from 2018. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2022. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2023)

Jul 29th, 2019Met up with @Kimberly Anderson and @Chad Anderson in Chicago with my Dad. They brought this outstanding bottle for happy hour at Bellemore. This was 80/20 Chardonnay/Pinot Noir. Creamy, balanced and noticeable purity. Marked acidity and length. Paired 👌🏽 with kampachi crudo apps and exceptional company!

Nov 18th, 201770% Chardonnay & 30% Pinot Noir from two parcels in Rilly-la-Montagne. Does not go through malolactic. Oak aging in large barrelS. Always liked this producer and feel he goes a lot easier on the oak now. Good weight, a food Champagne. Intense chalky notes with touch of toast and tarragon. A strong finish that ends with rich flavors of lemon confit and orange zest.
